Colleen Nguyen
Secondary Mathematics Teaching Candidate
Hi, everyone! I am Colleen Nguyen, a graduate student in the secondary Master's in Teaching program at Western Washington University. I'm also working towards completing a math endorsement, and I hope to teach middle or high school math in the future. On campus, I am a graduate teaching assistant for the Science Math and Technology Education (S.M.A.T.E) department. Additionally, I work for the Asian Counseling and Referral Services on the youth civics and engagement team.

I'm a second-generation, Vietnamese American immigrant. I am fluent in both English and Vietnamese. My hope is to use my background and experiences as a lens to inform my teaching pedagogy. Ultimately, it's important to me that I continue to remain open-minded and reflect on my practices.

In my spare time, I like to explore the outdoors and care for my plant babies!! I've hiked in Washington, Utah, Colorado, and Hawaii.
